General information: A graphic CAD medium has been worked out which enables the designing of an optional system for modelling, control and supervision of processes and signals through a great number of previously built units. Each unit consists of a different number of inputs and outputs and contains a certain function-mathematical dependence, connection with external devices, visualization of signals on computer display. The units are grouped into libraries according to their function; Each input/output can be of a different signal type – floating point signal (continuous analogue signal), digital signal, string signal. The type of signal is recognizable according to its colour – green, red. Only one type (colour) signals can be connected. The system doesn’t allow any loop connection of different type signals. A big number of unit inputs can be connected in one loop. But the system doesn’t allow the connection of several outputs. A hardware module has been worked out leaving 4 analogue inputs and an analogue output for connection with the outer world. Example: A system has been built with two generators – of square waveform and a sine curve. The difference between the two signals is made visual by means of a graphic type “Oscilloscope” unit and a text unit showing its present value – 11.000 [mV]. Another simple digital circuit is built which is independent from the above mentioned analogue one and consists of two units – a button and a lamp. By pressing the button, the lamp changes its colour. Possible application of the program: development of experimental treatments for educational needs – the proposed packet software plus hardware has already been used for 7 years in the Technical University of Varna, “Automated systems” Department. SCADA software development – Setting up of a control algorithm with the purpose of an upcoming configuration and adjustment of industrial controllers – the control scheme is sent according to a previously set report, to the controller through RS232 or other standard communication channels. Development of new functional units as well as of an external hardware module with enlarged resources – more analogue and digital inputs and outputs and a higher exchange speed with the computer. That could turn the proposed system into a powerful tool to support different spheres of technology, applied science, education.
